One former Michigan State player is moving on and is headed back closer to home for 2021.
The player is Devin Hightower, a linebacker originally out of Akron, Ohio as a member of the 2020 recruiting class. He announced on Instagram Monday evening that he is committing to Cincinnati and will be transferring to the Bearcats program.

Hightower was a three-star recruit for the 2020 cycle and was rated the No. 20 overall prospect out of Ohio. He originally chose MSU over Pittsburgh, Akron, Ball State, and others.
Hightower’s move to Cincinnati definitely brings him back to Ohio, but it will also reunite him with Mike Tressel. Tressel’s last year with the Spartans came in 2020 after joining MSU way back in 2007. He was hired by the Bearcats as the defensive coordinator and linebacker coach this offseason.
Best of luck to Hightower as he moves on to continue his college career.
