Michigan State had a bounce-back 2021 season and fullback Connor Heyward played a major role. Heyward capped off the season by scoring one of Michigan State’s four touchdowns in its 31-21 victory vs. Pitt in the Peach Bowl.

During the fourth quarter, Heyward hauled in a 15-yard reception in the end zone in acrobatic fashion. So much so that Executive Director of the Senior Bowl Jim Nagy was effusive in his praise of Heyward.

That’s a lofty compliment from Nagy who has witnessed his share of talented fullbacks across the years.

Heyward finished with 5 receptions for 37 yards in the Peach Bowl. For the season, Heyward has amassed 35 receptions, 326 yards, and 2 touchdowns. Heyward was used frequently as an H-back/hybrid player this season.

The 6-foot, 230-pound Heyward has totaled 96 receptions for 711 yards and 6 touchdowns. In 2018, Heyward led Michigan State with 529 rushing yards.

Michigan State finished 2021 with an 11-2 record and ended third in the B1G East.
