Flag on the play: Ref calls for security due to snowballs during blustery day in East Lansing
It’s a blustery day in East Lansing, and the snow is still falling down as the game gets ever closer to halftime.
The snow was already falling before Michigan State and Penn State took the field and has continued for much of the first half. It has produced pretty scenery but sloppy conditions as players struggle with traction. The snow is also bringing out some mischief.
During one break in the action, the referee had to call on security due to snowballs behind the Penn State bench:
“They’ve got snowballs in their bench, I need security,” said the ref.
A ref accidentally kept his mic on during the timeout. Apparently, there are snowballs on the Penn State bench and security has been called… pic.twitter.com/PipmVkiKh2

Hopefully, things quiet day coming out of halftime and the two sides can slug it out in the snow.
