Flint defensive end turns down Alabama, Georgia, Michigan for Michigan State
Michigan State probably doesn’t want the week to end.
On Friday night, the Spartans picked up their sixth verbal commitment of the week. MSU had to fight off college football’s elite to get their most recent addition.
Three-star defensive end Michael Fletcher had offers from the likes of Alabama, Georgia and Michigan, but he gave his commitment to the Spartans on Friday night:

The Flint, Mich. native is the No. 11 recruit in the state and the No. 394 player overall in the 2019 class. Besides those aforementioned offers, the 6-5, 240-pound defensive end was offered by Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin and others.
Fletcher’s commitment to MSU actually came a week after he took an official visit to Michigan. He officially visited Kentucky a week earlier, as well.
With Fletcher on board — he’s the Spartans’ third-highest rated verbal pledge — MSU’s class continued its rise up the 247sports rankings. They’re up to No. 3 in the B1G and No. 17 nationally.
