A former Michigan State defensive back is suing Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green over an alleged altercation that occurred in a bar in 2016.

Jermaine Edmondson and his girlfriend, Bianca Williams, held a press conference Tuesday, alongside attorney Lisa Bloom.

Edmondson, who was a member of Michigan State’s football team from 2012 through 2015, said the incident with Green is still something that haunts him.

“I think about happened with Draymond every day,” he said. “I still feel his hand on my jaw. There are nights when I wake up crying. I don’t understand why my name has been turned into this joke and he gets all the credit for being a superstar and standing up for a woman.”

The incident dates back to July 2016, when Edmondson said Green hit him in the face. Edmonson also claims that the night before he was struck, he and his girlfriend were choke by Green and a friend.

According to Yahoo! Sports, the initial police report described Green’s attack as an open-hand slap. Green was arrested, paid a $560 fine and agreed to have no contact with Edmondson for a year.

Edmondson transferred shortly after the incident.

In his junior season (2015) in East Lansing, Edmondson recorded career highs in tackles (24), tackles for loss (2.5), pass break-ups (3) and fumble recoveries (2). He made appearances in all 14 games.

He would’ve been a redshirt senior for the Spartans in 2016.

Green has become famous for his role with the Golden State Warriors, helping his team win two NBA titles in the last three seasons. But before his superstardom in the Bay Area, Green was a stud for Tom Izzo and the Spartans from 2008 through 2012.

In four years at Michigan State, Green scored 1,517 points and grabbed 1,096 rebounds.
