Watts spent two season with the Spartans before opting for the transfer portal. Last season, he averaged 7.7 points and 2.7 assists per game.
Watts was a major recruit for Michigan State in the class of 2019. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Watts was the No. 7 combo guard and the No. 39 overall player in the country.
He played both guard positions during his time with Michigan State, but struggled as a point guard during his sophomore campaign. He averaged 2.7 assists and 1.6 turnovers per game, and his shooting efficiency took a dip. He made just over 25 percent of his 3-point attempts this season on a volume of 3.1 attempts per contest.
Michigan State is getting an infusion of talent this offseason. The Spartans are adding three blue-chip prospects in the class of 2021, including 5-star big man Max Christie. Tom Izzo also has a commitment from transfer guard Tyson Walker.
