Former Michigan State RB Kenneth Walker III not a fan of shortened name during NFL Combine
Former Michigan State running back Kenneth Walker III wasn’t a huge fan of his name being shortened for drills during the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine.
Walker, who was the B1G Running back of the Year and Doak Walker Award winner in 2021, was listed as “Kenny Walker” during several drills for the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this month. He was not a fan of that.
Matt Wenzel of MLive.com asked the star back about the shortened name during the combine in Indianapolis. He says he’ll continue to go by Kenneth.
Asked Kenneth Walker III about being listed as “Kenny” for everything at the combine. He was not a fan and insisted it’s still Kenneth.

Walker was regarded as the most important pick-up out of the NCAA transfer portal last season. He led the B1G with 1,636 yards on the ground last season and finished second with 18 rushing touchdowns.
The addition of Walker was a big reason why Michigan State was able to improve from 2-5 in 2020 to 11-2 in 2021. He proved to be one of the best ball carriers in the nation by the end of the year.
