Former Spartans TE re-signs with LA Chargers days after being released
One former Michigan State player is back with the same NFL team that cut him just days ago.
The player is Matt Seybert, a tight end that signed with the Los Angeles Chargers back in June after appearing in the Spring League. He recorded 3 catches for 88 yards in the Spring League after previously going undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Seybert has been fighting it out for a roster spot but was cut earlier in the week. He appeared in 4 offensive snaps for the Chargers during the preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams.
On Saturday, the Chargers announced that they were re-signing Seybert. He reacted to the news on Twitter:

Now, Seybert will try and hang around through the second round of preseason roster cuts. Those cuts are scheduled to take place Tuesday, Aug. 24.
Seybert finished the 2019 season with the Spartans, recording 26 catches for 284 yards and 3 touchdowns.
