A pair of Michigan State basketball players, senior Gabe Brown and junior Malik Hall, will make program history by becoming the first Spartan hoopsters to make a paid personal appearance.

The duo will sign autographs at Pro Sports Zone in Livonia, Michigan on Saturday from 1-to-3 p.m. ET.

Autographs will run fans $20 apiece and another $8 if you would like James Spence Authentication (JSA) on-site.

Brown and Hall’s money-making afternoon would not have been permissible under NCAA regulations as recently as a couple of months ago, but the relaxed NIL policies have made this event possible.

“We are excited to usher in the new era of NIL by making history with a basketball program and (coach Tom Izzo), who has always done things the right way,” Steve Haney, General Counsel of Parlay Sports & Entertainment, and a Detroit-based Attorney, told the Free Press’ Chris Solari.

“For Gabe and Malik, this is an opportunity for them to monetize their name, image and likeness and take advantage of these exciting new financial opportunities.”

A product of Belleville High School in the Kensington Lakes Activities Association (KLAA), Brown has appeared in 88 games over his first three years in East Lansing, registering 21 starts and averaging 5.3 points and 2.5 rebounds-per-game.

Hailing from Aurora, Illinois, Hall spent his final three prep seasons at Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kansas, the same school that produced former Michigan State point guard Lourawls “Tum Tum” Nairn.

Starting 18 of his 59 games at the collegiate level, Hall – a 6-foot-7 forward – is averaging 4.8 points and 3.9 rebounds as a Spartan.

In 2020-21, Izzo’s program made the NCAA Tournament for the 23rd-straight season but was bounced in the First Four by the UCLA Bruins, who ended up making a run to the Final Four.
