Tory Ozment is the hero in East Lansing on Sunday.

With time running out and Michigan State tied with Purdue, Ozment hit a 3-pointer as time expired to lift the Spartans to a 76-73 victory over the Boilermakers at the Breslin Center. She ended the game with 7 points off the bench and it was her only shot attempt from behind the arc all day long.

Ozment’s game winner helped Michigan State complete the season sweep of Purdue. On Jan. 3, the Spartans posted a 71-64 victory over the Boilermakers at Mackey Arena.

Three Spartans scored in double figures in the win, led by Alisia Smith, who recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Alyza Winston and Moira Joiner added 16 and 11, respectively.

Purdue was led by Kayana Traylor, who scored 31 points in the loss.

With the buzzer-beating win, Michigan State improved to 7-6 in B1G play on the season and is 12-6 overall. The Spartans have two games remaining on the schedule, playing Rutgers and Nebraska to close out the year.
