Georgia Tech reportedly swiping DBs coach from Michigan State
Traveres Tillman, who coaches the cornerbacks and Michigan State, is reportedly heading to Atlanta for the same role.
According to a report on Tuesday morning from Colton Pouncey of the Athletic, Georgia Tech is bringing Tillman on to join Geoff Collins’ staff.
He has spent the last 2 seasons in East Lansing and even worked with current Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker when he was at Colorado coaching defensive backs as well.

Tillman got his start in college coaching after joining Kirby Smart’s staff at Georgia as a graduate assistant working with DBs from 2016 to 2018. Georgia was 32-10 while he was on staff there. In the 2017 season while Tillman worked the DBs, the Bulldogs had the 3rd-best pass defense in the nation.
Tillman originally came to East Lansing as a defensive assistant on Tucker’s staff, before being promoted to cornerbacks coach in 2021.
We’ll see if anymore coaches from Tucker’s staff get hired anywhere else.
