Michigan State has released its uniforms for Friday’s meeting with Western Michigan. Mel Tucker is coming into 2022 with some high expectations.
The Spartans will be going with their classic home uniforms. They will have white helmets, green jerseys, and white shoes. The shoulders will also have a spartan-like design on them, however.

The video had some dramatic undertones in it, as a player rose out of the water carrying a spartan spear and shield.
Michigan State last played Western Michigan back in 2019. The Spartans handled business then, and won 51-17. This will not only be a special game only because it’s the season opener. Spartan QB Payton Throne will be facing his dad, Jeff Thorne, who is the offensive coordinator for the Broncos.
The Spartans are hoping to come close to what they did in 2021. Mel Tucker’s group finished 11-2 last season, but has since lost some talent to the NFL.
You can watch Michigan State take on Western Michigan Friday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
