Michigan State is 9-1 and ranked inside the top 10 with serious aspirations for a B1G Championship appearance. Though there are a lot of factors for the resurgence of the Spartans, the biggest factor has to be the play of dynamic running back Kenneth Walker III.

Since transferring in from Wake Forest, Walker has been a catalyst for Michigan State. Entering Week 11, Walker already had 6 100-yard performances and a pair of 200-yard outings. He also scored 5 touchdowns in a dramatic win over Michigan.

In Saturday’s win over Maryland, Walker was at it again. He went for 143 yards and 2 scores to engineer a 40-point performance for the Spartans. It also put Walker in some rare company.

According to the BTN broadcast, Walker hit the 140+ yard mark for a 3rd straight game. That makes Walker the first MSU back to hit that number in 3 or more games since Javon Ringer in 2008:

Walker’s other performances were 197 yards against Michigan and 146 against Purdue. In 2008, Ringer finished with 1,637 yards rushing and 22 touchdowns.
