Kenneth Walker looks like the real deal.

The former Wake Forest running back couldn’t have started his career at Michigan State any better. On the first play from scrimmage in Friday night’s opener, Walker took the opening handoff 75 yards to the end zone to give the Spartans an early 7-0 lead over Northwestern.

After beating a few defenders, Walker fired up the jetpacks and sprinted into the end zone without much of a chase. It was a huge play to start the game.

Walker was a huge offseason addition to Michigan State’s running back room. He hit the transfer portal following the 2020 season and provided the Spartans with more talent and depth in the backfield.

Mel Tucker’s decision to pick up the phone and call the running back is already paying off big time.
