Former Michigan State QB Kirk Cousins can be a polarizing player. No more so for Minnesota Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah per Jori Epstein of USA Today.

Cousins had a solid season for the Vikings in 2021, throwing for 4,221 yards passing with 33 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. However, the Vikings missed the postseason for the 2nd straight season after an 8-9 finish. There is a new coaching era in Minnesota, HC Mike Zimmer was fired and so was GM Rick Spielman.

This is what the new Vikings GM said about Cousins:

“I’ll be frank,” Adofo-Mensah said. “The one asset where you get nervous about not burning it down is quarterback. We have a good quarterback, but we don’t have Tom Brady and we don’t have Patrick Mahomes. The Super Bowl is more likely to win if you have that quarterback. It’s very unlikely to have that quarterback.”

You can’t make everyone happy, it seems.
