Ian Stewart flashed some serious hops during Michigan State’s spring scrimmage on Saturday.

The Spartans had a unique approach to the open spring practice on Saturday, coordinating a mixture of individual and group drills, doing 7-on-7 work and also hosting a scrimmage. It was during the scrimmage that Stewart made a huge play.

With a defender all over him, Stewart had to make a leaping catch for a big gain. It got quite a reaction from the fans in attendance, too.

Here is the clip:

Stewart is looking to make a bigger impact on the field for the Spartans in his second season. Last year, he appeared in four games as a freshman, primarily on special teams.

Now, Stewart is hoping to carve out a role in the offense. He’s off to a pretty good start in spring.
