Jacob Slade has declared for the 2023 NFL Draft and will forego his final season of eligibility at Michigan State.

The fifth-year senior announced his decision on Twitter, thanking the Spartan fans for the memories and relationships he formed with teammates. Slade mentioned in the announcement that he had made the decision after speaking with both his coaches and family.

Despite suffering an injury that sidelined him for four games this season, Slade was an impact performer for Michigan State. The DT recorded 20 tackles, including 3.5 for a loss and was an honorable mention All-B1G selection this season.

Slade made 26 starts for the Spartans in his 42-game collegiate career and in that time amassed 88 tackles, including 11.5 for a loss, four sacks, four pass breakups, one fumble recovery and a blocked field goal.
