Jacoby Windmon added another honor to his 2022 season. He now has won two National Defense Player of the Week awards.

Windmon has also won three B1G Defensive Player of the Week awards as well on top of that. Despite the Spartans 3-4 record, Windmon has been playing at a high level almost every single game.

Windmon leads the Spartans in sacks (5.5) and has 37 total tackles, 1 interception, 6 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery.

Mel Tucker will need Windmon to continue this down the stretch if he wants to take the Spartans to back-to-back bowl games. Michigan State played Pitt in the Peach Bowl last season and won 31-21.

The Spartans now have a whole bye week to prepare for their annual in-state rivalry game with Michigan on Oct. 29. Michigan State has won the last two meetings, but not by much. Last season’s game ended 37-33, following a three-point 27-24 victory in 2020.

Can Windmon help lead the Spartans to their third-straight win over the Wolverines?
