Jayden Reed will suit up for Michigan State’s key Week 3 road trip to Washington. According to Chris Solari with the Detroit Free Press, Reed did not travel to the game.

Reed leads the team with 8 catches on the young season and has 107 yards receiving. His impact extends beyond the offense as the team’s best return man.

Reed’s absence is injury related and he was dinged up in the Week 2 win over Akron. The exact nature of that injury is unknown.

Reed was Michigan State’s most explosive receiver in 2021, and his chemistry with quarterback Payton Thorne is a big boost for the offense. With Thorne’s early-season struggles, he’ll need to find a quick groove with some other receivers in a tough Power 5 road test Saturday night.

We’ll see if the Spartans can make it out with a win after the loss of Reed.
