Antjuan Simmons had a big game for the Spartans in Saturday’s upset victory.

The senior linebacker is certainly a leader for the Michigan State defense, and he has been phenomenal to start the season. After 11 tackles against Rutgers, Simmons picked up right where he left off against archrival Michigan.

In the big upset win, Simmons posted 11 tackles, including 0.5 TFL, with two passes defended. That included one clutch deflection in the end zone that Simmons nearly reeled in for an interception. Fortunately, he was still able to force an incompletion and prevent a Michigan touchdown on the play.

On Sunday, FOX analyst Joel Klatt gave Simmons a shoutout on social media. Klatt called Simmons a beast for his performance and highlighted that Simmons put up his strong showing in the Big House close to where he played his high school football:

Simmons responded, saying there is obviously no better feeling than getting to put up a big game against your biggest rival:

Hopefully the Spartans are able to rack up a few more wins in 2020, but this one will be sweet for some time for Simmons.
