Josiah Scott snuffs out Northwestern drive with beautiful toe-tap interception
Josiah Scott found a great time to grab his first interception of the season!
The star defensive back for Michigan State had come close through the first three weeks of the season. After breaking up a number of passes with a few near interceptions, Scott made sure to hang on to this Hunter Johnson throw late in the first half.
Northwestern was trying to drive for points while trailing 7-3 late in the first half. Johnson dropped back and unleashed a throw towards the sideline on this play.

The throw was never going to find a receiver and it looked like the pass would sail into the bench. Until Scott broke on the ball and covered a lot of space to the sideline. He stretched out at the last moment and was able to toe-tap the sideline while reeling in the interception.

Michigan State’s offense would make the turnover count. Brian Lewerke led the offense on a critical drive that ended with a touchdown to Cody White with under 30 seconds left in the half:
