Katin Houser did all he could do to make sure Michigan State got some points on the board.

Houser came into the game as the Spartans were getting blown out by the Washington Huskies. Down 41-0, Houser led the team down the field and ended the drive with a 4-yard TD run. The redshirt freshman leaped over the Washington defender and dove into the end zone to secure his 1st career TD.

Houser’s score was one of the only positives for the Spartans. Noah Kim had a day to forget, completing just 12/31 passes for 136 yards, 0 TDs, and 1 INT. Washington’s defense smothered the Spartans all night and with the game out of reach, Houser was brought in. Houser went 2/4 for 72 yards through the air and had the 1 rush for 4 yards.

The Spartans’ run game couldn’t get much going either. Nathan Carter finished with 17 carries for 48 yards.

The Spartans will look to rebound in Week 4 as conference play gets underway and the Maryland Terrapins come to town.
