Kenneth Walker III spent just one season in East Lansing, but his lone season at Michigan State was one to remember.

In 12 games, Walker rushed for 1,646 yards while averaging over 6 yards per carry. He scored 18 touchdowns on the ground and was a key cog for a Spartan squad that won 11 games.

After his run with the Spartans, Walker entered the 2022 NFL Draft and is expected to be one of the top running backs off the board in April. Walker also headlines Pro Football Focus’ list of top 5 backs in the draft.

According to PFF, Walker is the top RB in this year’s draft and is the No. 54 overall prospect regardless of position. Among the “pros” to Walker’s game, PFF lists his traits on the ground – speed, power, and elusiveness – as a complete runner. PFF also touched on his ability to hit small creases and the ability to handle a large workload without wearing down.

Not without his drawbacks, PFF listed Walker’s cons in the passing game. His work in pass protection and as a pass-catcher (19 catches in 3 seasons) was among the “cons” on Walker’s profile.

It will be interesting to see where he winds up in the NFL and how he looks to begin his career.
