Marcus Bingham Jr. apologizes to Spartan Nation while Julius Marble calls MSU's loss 'embarrassing'
Saturday was not a great day for Michigan State.
After committing 12 turnovers in the first half vs. Northwestern, the Spartans were unable to close the gap in the second. Michigan State wound up with 3 opportunities to tie or take the lead late but came up short each time.
The final shot to tie the game was via a 1-and-1 for Marcus Bingham Jr. with 1 second remaining. Bingham’s first shot bounced off the rim with Northwestern rebounding to end the game.
Though the loss was far from determined on that sequence, Bingham put out an apology to Spartan Nation after the loss:
My bad spartan nation I promise I’ll be better. See y’all in April 💚✌🏾

Julius Marble II – who scored a career-high 18 points on a perfect shooting performance – also called it “embarrassing” that the Spartans allowed Northwestern to control the offensive glass. Gabe Brown also cited a need to stay after guys due to a low effort from some players in the loss.
Julius Marble calls it “embarrassing” that MSU gave up 17 offensive rebounds. Says is shows where the Spartans are right now in terms of toughness.

Gabe Brown on MSU’s effort issues: “I’m on guys 24/7 about it. I probably gotta do a better job of getting on guys more and more, because we can’t go out there and play like we did today.”
