After battling multiple injuries this season, Michigan State running back LJ Scott will redshirt and return for another season in 2019.

Scott has rushed for 2,771 yards in his career with the Spartans, but he has not been able to stay on the field this season. He has 180 yards and no touchdowns in four games. Under the new redshirt rule, Scott can retain a year of eligibility if he does not play in another game this season.

Following the loss to Ohio State, head coach Mark Dantonio announced that Scott will indeed redshirt and return for 2019. MLive.com’s Matt Wenzel shared Dantonio’s announcement:
