Michigan State began the season at 2-0 and was coming off a 51-17 beat-down against Western Michigan coming into Week 3.

The offense looked better than it had in quite some time. After all, that’s been the issue with the Spartans for over a year now: the offense. Defensively, Michigan State is just fine. The -6 rushing yards allowed in the first two weeks of 2019 can attest to that.

But in Week 3, Michigan State laid an egg offensively once again, losing to Arizona State, 10-7. On Tuesday, coach Mark Dantonio spoke with the media about many things, including the overall vibe around the team:

“I think we have a positive vibe in the locker room,” Dantonio said. “I think we have good chemistry, I’ve said that over and over throughout. When you have a situation like this — we could be 3-0 right now, but we’re not — at the end of the day you’ve got to regroup. You can’t have the ‘poor me’ and say ‘all is lost.'”

Michigan State plays at Northwestern for Week 4. The game is scheduled to start at noon ET and will be televised on ABC.

We’ll see just how positive the vibes are early in that game.
