We still have 10 months until Michigan and Michigan State take the field, but the offseason shots have already been fired.
On Sunday, Mark Dantonio made a comment about Michigan State’s snub from the Outback Bowl — which decided to take Michigan instead of the Spartans. When asked about it, Dantonio said “The record are what they are. I’ll just continue to focus on beating Michigan.”
That statement did not sit well with Jim Harbaugh.
Monday afternoon, after Harbaugh caught wind of that comment, he fired off a tweet blasting Dantonio. Actually, Harbaugh “congratulated” the head coach on turning around a program that finished 3-9 a season ago and was hurt by off the field issues.
Saw Coach D comments on continuing to "focus" on how "he" can beat Michigan. Congrats on turning around a 3-9 team, plagued with off field issues. Good for BIG to have him back.

That tweet seems to be a little harsh from Harbaugh, but there were plenty of Wolverines who loved every word of it.
Dantonio didn’t appear to be bothered by those words, but he did respond to the statement with a tweet of his own, quoting himself from 2007:
For all Spartans, “it’s not over, it’ll never be over, it’s just getting started” #SpartansWill

Dantonio made that same statement a decade ago when Michigan running back Mike Hart kept referring to Michigan State as “little brother.” The Spartans are 8-2 in the rivalry since then.
Michigan State owns a 2-1 record over Michigan since Harbaugh arrived in Ann Arbor, including a 14-10 win earlier this year.
