It may not have always been easy, but Mark Dantonio joined illustrious company Saturday evening.

With a 51-17 win over Western Michigan, Dantonio officially tied legendary Michigan State coach Duffy Daugherty for the school’s all-time wins record. The victory was Dantonio’s 109 with the Spartans and leaves him just one win away from becoming the programs all-time leader.

It serves as a good reminder that Dantonio’s run of success at Michigan State has been unprecedented. Dantonio has five bowl wins on his resume, including a Rose Bowl win, a Cotton Bowl win, and a trip to the College Football Playoff.

Hopefully, Dantonio can return the Spartans to the B1G Championship Game, but there’s no denying he is an MSU legend.
