Mel Tucker has 2 back-to-back solid recruiting classes coming to East Lansing. However, he knows better than anyone how hard it is to keep recruits committed per Graham Couch of the Lansing State Journal.

Michigan State had the 4th-best recruiting class in the B1G for 2022, and currently has the 3rd-best recruiting class in the B1G for 2023. Tucker is willing to play the long game when it comes to the next class of Spartans.

“I like the start that we have with the class,” said Tucker. “We have some good players. They’re super interested. But we’re recruiting every day still. You’ve got guys who have committed, you’re trying to keep them. Because once guys commit, the recruiting process is not over by any stretch of the imagination. (Other schools) are still recruiting guys who are committed to us, because they’re good players. There are phases to it. There’s a long game in recruiting.

Michigan State has the recruits coming in, now it’s time to prove it on the field.
