Mel Tucker rakes in another national honor after Michigan State's 10-2 season
Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker has done a great job with the Spartans in just 2 seasons on the job. The Spartans finished 10-2 on the season and earned a New Year’s Six Bowl spot.
No. 10 Michigan State is playing No. 12 Pitt in the Chic-Fil-A Peach Bowl on Dec. 30 at 8:00 ET on ESPN. Tucker has earned another award for his accomplishments this season.
Tucker has won the WeAreAFCA Region 3 FBS Coach of the Year for the job he did with the Spartans this season.

Tucker turned a 2-4 team from his first season into a threat in the B1G East again. He did this behind star transfer RB Kenneth Walker III, who, without a doubt, should have a seat in New York for the Heisman Trophy ceremony this Saturday.
Tucker can cap off this incredible season with Michigan State’s first New Year’s Six bowl win since 2015. The Spartans beat the Baylor Bears in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic 42-41.
After a few down seasons, Michigan State is back to being one of the contenders in the East and has put the B1G on notice.
