Mel Tucker and Michigan State fell on the road to Washington, trying to come back late but running out of time against the Huskies. In the end, a sluggish start to the game on both sides of the ball doomed the Spartans as they fall to 2-1 on the season.

After the game, Tucker addressed what he saw out of his unit. While there’s no getting around the deficiencies of the defense, Tucker did say he believes the tape will show a “death by inches” for the Spartans.

He went on to point out the issues on third down for the defense and the “little details” that added up in the loss.

Now, it will be interesting to see what the Spartans draw up to correct those details heading into conference play. They do not get any time to rest with Minnesota set to visit East Lansing in Week 4.
