Last week, No. 3 Michigan State fell victims to upset hungry Purdue on the road 40-29. The Spartans needed a big win in Week 11 to get themselves back in the College Football Playoff picture ahead of a Week 12 showdown with Ohio State.

On Saturday, Michigan State hosted Maryland for a chance to bounce back. Michigan State took down Maryland 40-21 thanks to a big first-half, outscoring the Terrapins 27-14.

The three offensive stars for Michigan State had huge performances. Quarterback Payton Thorne threw for 22-of-30 for 287 yards, 4 touchdowns, 1 interception, and a QBR of 90. Running back Kenneth Walker III rushed for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns on 30 carries. Finally, wide receiver Jayden Reed caught 8 receptions for 114 yards and 2 touchdowns.

After the game, Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker was hyped for the win to get his team back on track. Michigan State will have a huge matchup next Saturday as they travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on No. 3 Ohio State for a key battle for the B1G East.
