Michigan State adds four games to future non-conference schedules
Four games have been added to Michigan State’s future non-conference schedules, including a three-game series with an in-state MAC program.
Wednesday, Michigan State announced that it has added a three-game series with Central Michigan. Those games have been scheduled for 2023, 2027 and 2030, per a release from the school. The Spartans are also scheduled to host Florida Atlantic (FAU) to open the 2024 season.
All four games will be played at Spartan Stadium. Below are the dates for the new games:
- Sept. 2, 2023: vs. Central Michigan
- Aug. 31, 2024: vs. FAU
- Sept. 11, 2027: vs. Central Michigan
- Aug. 31, 2030: vs. Central Michigan
Michigan State and Central Michigan have played 11 times with the Spartans owning an 8-3 all-time series lead. MSU has won four straight games (2011, 2012, 2015 and 2018). The last victory for the Chippewas was a 29-27 win in 2009.
Michigan State and Florida Atlantic have met three times on the field, all matchups coming between 2008 and 2011. The Spartans won all three contests in convincing fashion.
