Michigan State isn’t quite done recruiting from the transfer portal just yet.

On Monday, the Spartans received a pledge from former Washington State center Brian Greene. He made his announcement with a post on Twitter, saying he’s “Fired up for this opportunity!”

Greene spent 5 seasons at Washington State before deciding to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal. The 6-foot-3, 300-pound interior lineman received interest from around three dozen schools, a battle Michigan State eventually won.

Greene started his career at Washington State as a walk-on under Mike Leach in 2017. He earned a scholarship a year later and became a critical part of the Cougars’ offensive line.

Greene became a starter for the Cougars in 2020, a role he filled through the 2021 season, though he missed some time because of an injury and a personal matter. He made 6 starts last fall.

At Michigan State, Greene will have 1 season of eligibility to use. He joins a Spartans program that finished the 2021 season with an 11-2 record.
