Three of the most experienced players on Michigan State’s roster will be leading the team onto the field against rival Michigan in a massive showdown on Saturday in East Lansing.

Wednesday morning, the Spartans announced the three team captains for Saturday’s in-state rivalry clash. Safety Xavier Henderson, kicker Matt Coghlin and wide receiver Jayden Reed have been named the leaders.

Veteran leadership will be key for MSU heading into the biggest game of the season.

Both Michigan and Michigan State will enter Saturday’s game with a perfect 7-0 record. The Spartans are attempting to improve to 2-0 against the Wolverines under second-year head coach Mel Tucker.

Michigan State defeated Michigan in last year’s meeting in Ann Arbor.

Kickoff between the Wolverines and Spartans is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET with the game airing on FOX.
