Michigan State assistant leaving for SEC program
Michigan State will be losing an assistant once the Peach Bowl is wrapped up.
According to Adam Rittenberg with ESPN, RB coach William Peagler is leaving East Lansing to reunite with Billy Napier at Florida. Napier landed the head coaching job of the Gators this offseason but was the head coach at Louisiana from 2018-21.
Before joining Mel Tucker at Colorado in 2019, Peagler was with Napier’s Louisiana staff in 2018. According to Rittenberg, Peagler will coach tight ends at his new destination.

Most notably, Peagler coached Kenneth Walker III to a top-10 finish in Heisman Trophy voting this season.
Michigan State has made it through this year’s crazy coaching carousel mostly unscathed. Hopefully Mel Tucker and the Spartans are able to find a solid replacement for 2022 and beyond.
