Mel Tucker’s current Michigan State team might be having its ups and downs. But things are certainly looking good on the recruiting front.
Tucker is in the midst of building his 2021 recruiting class. That group got a big lift on Monday when Rayshaun Benny, a four-star defensive lineman prospect out Oak Park, Michigan, announced his decision to head to East Lansing and play for Tucker.

This is the biggest recruiting win for Tucker and the Spartans thus far. He seems to be impressing recruits, including Benny.

Benny also felt a boost from Michigan State going into Ann Arbor and defeating Michigan in Week 2.

Benny is six-foot-five, 275 pounds. He is the 188th best prospect in his class, per 247Sports. He is the 15th best defensive tackle according to the site.
Besides beating out two Big Ten schools, Michigan State also beat out Kentucky. This just seems like a big win for a Spartan coaching staff that is slowly building things up to regain their status as a contender in the Big Ten East.
