Michigan State cancels 2020 spring game initially set for mid-April

The coronavirus is making its presence felt in a multitude of ways around the sports world. Not only has it canceled postseason action for sports like basketball, but it has canceled the remainder of entire seasons, too (such as baseball).

In the world of college football, regular season action in 2020 is set to start in late August. That’s a long time away. However, the virus has affected the most popular sport, too.

Teams like Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State have already announced the cancellation of their annual spring games.

On Friday, we can add Michigan State’s name to that list of teams that won’t be playing a spring game this year:

As Chris Solari stated, the spring game was set for Saturday, April 18. That’s over a month away. However, that’s how much it is affecting the sports landscape.
