The B1G is losing players left and right to the transfer portal. Michigan State is the latest team to fall victim to the portal.

Senior S CJ Hayes, on Monday morning, has announced he is entering the transfer portal. In 4 seasons with Spartans, Hayes played WR and S sparingly.

An interesting nugget about this transfer portal situation is that Michigan State is letting him play in the bowl game this postseason. Most schools and players do not play in the bowl game if they announce they are transferring prior to playing in the bowl game.

That is cool that Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker and the rest of the Spartans are letting him play in a big bowl game.

Michigan State had a magical season in Tucker’s 2nd season with the program. The Spartans went 10-2 on the season and are appearing in an NY6 bowl for the first time since the 2015 Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic Semifinal game. The Spartans would lose that game to Alabama 38-0.
