Michigan State DE reportedly dismissed while facing multiple weapons charges
One Michigan State DE has been dismissed from the team and is reportedly facing multiple weapons charges.
According to Matt Wenzel with MLive.com, defensive end Itayvion Brown has been dismissed and was arraigned Friday on two counts. Those counts include felony carrying a concealed weapon and misdemeanor firearms possession while under the influence stemming from an incident on March 17.
“Itayvion Brown was dismissed from the Michigan State football team last month and did not participate in spring practice,” a program spokesman said in a written statement. “Previously, he had been indefinitely suspended from team activities beginning in late February.”
Brown spent the past two seasons as a part of Michigan State’s program since beginning his college career at Minnesota. He had 5 total tackles during his time with the Spartans.
Last season, Brown was among the group of Michigan State players that initially faced charges stemming from the tunnel incident following a loss to Michigan.
