Michigan State defense shredded by fans, media for second straight week due to disastrous start
Mel Tucker may be dealing with the effects of some roster turnover this season. His team is struggling once again, but this time it’s at home.
Minnesota led the game 14-0 after the first quarter, and it was much more of the same in the second. Michigan State is coming off of a devastating loss on the road to Washington.
Spartans fans let the team have on it on social media. The reactions from fans were very cynical. Some people actually offered to play defense for Michigan State after watching what took place in the first half.
Tucker is going to need to clean these things up if his team wants to have a shot at a B1G East title. Maybe Michigan State can turn things around into second half and right the ship. For now, it’s not looking good for the Spartans in their B1G home opener.
Here are some of the reactions from fans on social media:
Michigan State really should start running more zone on defense

Things are also now bordering on perfect-storm-of-hell (the old PSOH) for Michigan State right now as the Spartans not only cannot run the ball — in any situation … they can’t cover anything. Offense can’t stay on the field. Defense can’t get off it. https://t.co/YXRewohbnc

Michigan State can’t block any type of run — offensive staff has to take a deep look at things because it’s far too often not even giving itself a chance on drives.

Hey @SickosCommittee I’d like to submit the entire Michigan State defense for review

Michigan State has now lost 5 of its preseason starters on defense.
