Michigan State drops video unveiling new era under HC Mel Tucker
A new era has arrived in East Lansing!
Following what turned out to be a wild but disappointing 2019 season, Mark Dantonio made the decision to step away and retire. Dantonio took with him many school records and ended the year with a win in the Pinstripe Bowl over Wake Forest.
Now, Mel Tucker has taken the reigns for the Spartans after one season as a head coach at Colorado. He brings with him a toughness and background in defense that is similar in many ways to that of Dantonio.
While expectations will be high for Tucker, returning the Spartans to a sense of consistency will not be an easy task. Michigan State will be replacing long-time starting quarterback Brian Lewerke this season.
Regardless of the challenges ahead, it is time for the excitement of a new season under near leadership. A new era kicks off Saturday!
