A Michigan State defensive tackle is on the move.

Not long after the Spartans claimed a Peach Bowl victory over Pitt to finish the 2021 season with an 11-2 record, defensive lineman Kyle King announced that he has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. He made his announcement with a post on Twitter.

“After careful consideration I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal,” King wrote. “I am thankful for my time at MSU and would like to thank Coach (Dantonio) for giving me the opportunity to attend MSU, Coach Burton and the strength staff for developing me throughout my time at MSU, and Coach Tucker and staff for all they have done for me. I am grateful for my teammates and the friendships I have made at MSU and wish everyone the best of luck.”

King was a second-year player for the Spartans in 2021 and saw action in 7 games during Michigan State’s impressive double-digit win season. He collected 4 tackles and 3 pass break-ups during the year.

A native of Indiana, King was a 3-star defensive line recruit in the 2020 class. He committed to Michigan State over B1G offers from Indiana and Purdue.

King will have 3 years of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
