Michigan State is used to playing in bowl games each year. Wake Forest, not as consistently.
That said, the Demon Deacons jumped out to an early 7-0 lead on their first drive of the game. The Spartans would respond with a field goal.

Wake Forest was then ready to get its offense going again, but 43 seconds later, a batted pass went into the hands of a Michigan State defensive tackle and got intercepted and returned for a touchdown. Take a look:

Mike Panasiuk was the beneficiary of the batted pass, making his second career interception as a 300-pound DL. Panasiuk, after the touchdown, took his helmet off and tipped it toward the crowd in a baseball-inspired manner.
Why?
Because the game is being held at Yankee Stadium.

Again, the celebration was perfect. Except for the fact that he got flagged for taking his helmet off.
