Michigan State has taken another step toward cleaning up the reputation of the school’s tarnished image by finding former president Lou Anna Simon’s replacement, at least on an interim basis.

According to David Jesse and Kathleen Gray of the Detroit Free Press, Michigan Governor John Engler will serve as the school’s president. An official announcement by the school is expected Wednesday. The school is also expected to name former Michigan Governor Jim Blanchard as a senior advisor.

While the school searches for Simon’s full-time replacement, Engler is expected to remain in the position in East Lansing.
