Michigan State flips commitment of in-state linebacker from MAC program
Michigan State gained a commitment for its 2024 class on Saturday, as Jaydn Walker pledged to the Spartans program while in town for their Week 2 game against Richmond. Walker announced the news on his X account not long before kickoff.
The Portage (Mich.) Northern linebacker is considered the No. 22 player in the state of Michigan and the No. 105 linebacker in the class of 2024, according to the 247Sports composite ranking. He is the 13th commitment for Mel Tucker in this recruiting cycle and the 1st linebacker pledge.
Walker was initially a Toledo commit, announcing his decision a week after being offered by the Rockets on June 18.
However, during an official visit to East Lansing on Saturday, he was offered by the Spartans, and committed on the spot. He also has FBS offers from Arizona State and Eastern Michigan.
Thank you to everyone at Toledo for believing in me, but evaluating my future after an incredible conversation with @ScottieHazelton and receiving an offer from Michigan State, I am excited to announce I will be a Spartan!
