The 2021 season was a huge success for Mel Tucker, completing just his second year as the leader of the program. In his first year, the Spartans finished with a 2-5 record.
Tucker is a perfect 2-0 against Michigan, defeating the Wolverines in Ann Arbor in 2020 and winning in thrilling fashion in 2021. The Spartans were also undefeated at home.
