Barker is in his first year with Michigan State after 4 years at Illinois.
Michigan State looks to avoid its sixth loss in its last seven games. The Spartans are coming off a 29-7 road loss to No. 4 Michigan in Week 9.
The Spartans have lost the last two matchups versus the Fighting Illini, with the last matchup coming in a 37-34 Illinois win in East Lansing in 2019. The Spartans had a 31-10 lead going into the fourth quarter, but the Fighting Illini outscored the Spartans 27-3 in the final quarter.
Michigan State currently leads the series 26-19-2.
They come into the Week 10 road game versus Illinois as a 16.5-point underdog, according to FanDuel. Kickoff from Memorial Stadium in Champaign is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on BTN.
