Michigan State landed a commitment this past Wednesday from a local dynamic player in wide receiver Brandon Lewis from Lansing Catholic. Lewis made the commitment official on his Twitter.

Lewis will join Michigan State as a preferred walk-on after the Spartans extended the PWO offer early in July.

Not much is known about Lewis as 247Sports Composite hasn’t rated him. His MaxPreps page shows he is a dynamic playmaker that plays multiple positions.

Last season for Lansing Catholic High School, Lewis caught 36 receptions for 860 yards and 8 touchdowns while rushing for 464 yards and 3 touchdowns on 94 carries. As a cornerback, Lewis accounted for 56 total tackles, 41 solo tackles, 2 two tackles for loss, 7 pass breakups, 4 interceptions, and 1 fumble recovery.

Lewis is the 14th player to verbally commit to the Michigan State 2023 recruiting class. Michigan State currently has the 24th overall recruiting class according to 247Sports Composite rankings and the fifth-best ranking in the B1G.
