Michigan State has picked up a commitment from another in-state prospect.

Friday, the Spartans landed a verbal pledge from 3-star offensive tackle Ashton Lepo out of Grand Haven. He’s the fourth player in the 2022 class to commit to Michigan State and the second homegrown product to join the group. Tyrell Henry, a 3-star athlete from Roseville, is the other in-state commit.

Lepo made his announcement with a post on Twitter. He picked Michigan State over offers from a dozen other schools, including Baylor, Cincinnati and Indiana.

According to 247Sports, Lepo ranks just outside the Top 25 for prospects from the state of Michigan, coming in at No. 26. He’s also considered one of the Top 100 players at his position, listed as the No. 82 offensive tackle of the cycle.

Lepo is listed as a 6-foot-7, 270-pound offensive tackle. He’ll add size and depth to Michigan State’s offensive line, which has been an area of concern in East Lansing for the past few seasons.

With Lepo’s pledge, Michigan State sits at No. 7 in the B1G and No. 28 nationally.
